The myth preaches that Jalisco is regarded as the “Silicon Valley”of Latin america, however, the numbers indicate that Nuevo León is the state that has the best offer and value of production in areas such as information technology (IT).
Even according to specialists, it is this sector that has become a reference and important transformer of the economy of Nuevo León in recent years. For example, currently the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) generated in the IT part for the state is 2% and this helps the entity position itself as the best level of GDP in the country.
The numbers indicate that year after year, Nuevo León has been gaining ground and hoarding much of the cake within the composition and presence of companies in this sector at national level. The state has about 600 companies in the IT industry, which allows it to be placed on the second site (with a 9.8% stake) as far as the number of companies is concerned, surpassed only by Mexico City.
In addition, Nuevo León is strengthening itself on big data (large-scale data intelligence) and cloud (data storage) issues and is no longer just a software development factory, as before. it was believed to stand out.
