The civilian unmanned aircraft was acquired with resources granted to them by the Federation and had a cost of 25 million plus VAT without including the technology equipment, said Aldo Fasci Zuazua.
The Secretary of Public Security said that all the” gossip ” that has been generated around the cost of the drone is due to a supplier who wants to impose the technology to use the aircraft.
Without revealing the name of the supplier, Fasci indicated that they did not want to acquire the technology with him because he was “third-rate” so it was his annoyance and began to divulge false information.
“This whole mess is about a supplier who wants to impose a platform with which we disagree and I will expose him in due course.
“These gossips that are being told about things that don’t exist are from a supplier who is angry that I didn’t admit his third-rate technology,” Fasci explained.
The official explained that the platform the supplier wanted to impose was video surveillance but it is not the intelligence technology they require so they will look for other options.
Questioned about the cost of the aircraft including the technology, Fasci explained that it will make the announcement until it has international authorization to acquire it as it is difficult to obtain equipment.
He added that no tender was made to purchase the drone as it was a direct investment by the Federal Government.
Fasci anticipated that they will spend “hundreds of millions of pesos” on intelligence to prevent more criminal waves from arising.
